Welcome to
Blue Orchid Machine Quilting.
I'm so excited!!! I've won my first ribbon at a National Quilt Show, Machine Quilters Expo (MQX), held in New Hampshire. My quilt, Best Ambiance, featuring some of Caren's wonderful African themed designs (available through Legacy Quilting) won a Judge's Award ribbon from Scott Murkin. The overall design was quilted with a combination of Statler Stitcher and free hand. The Statler Stitcher is such a great tool.
Thanks for taking an interest in my website. If you have any quilting questions or needs, please let us know
Sincerely,
Susan Palmer

You know the saying, "When a door closes a window opens." Well that is what has happen to me and my dreams are coming true. I was employed for ten years with a local phone company. As many corporations are doing, they decided to close my department and move the business to another state. My husband and I decided this would be a great opportunity to take my small nest egg and start my own business. Since quilt making has been my passion for MANY years, it was only fitting I would do something in this venue.
These days I wake up happy and excited to get started quilting someone's beautiful creation. I'm hoping your top will be next.
Our prices are competitive and we have had very good positive feedback from the quilters that have seen the work.
Steve and I just got back from the most amazing trip of our lives. We would recomend Italy to anyone. Wonderful history, wonderful food and wonderful people.
Caren and I have jumped into the world of pattern designing for the Statler Stitcher and other computerized machines. If there is a special design, name or picture that you would like quilted on your quilt, we are the gals that can get it done. Caren's collection of patterns for your Statler Stitcher are available online. Caren has also digitized quilt patterns for the famous Judy Irish.
Cama Beach State Park is offically open!!!
Washington has opened their newest State Park. What does that have to do with quilting, you ask? Well, a group of ladies from Camano Island wanted the park to feel homey. They decided to make quilts for every bed in every cabin in the park. They have made over 100 tops. Through a grant from the state, Blue Orchid Quilting is priviledged to do the top stitching on all the cabin quilts. You can see one of the quilts in the picture with my longarm. The quilts look beautiful in their new home.
At the opening ceremony, my husband, Steve, Caren and I were lucky enough to meet Govenor Chris Gregoire.
I'm the one on the far right.
